what we check

vector or photo?

Vector files (true SVG, PDF, AI) redraw perfectly at any size. But a photo saved inside a PDF is still a photo — the wrapper doesn't change what's inside. We look inside the file, not just at the extension.

resolution

Photo-type files (PNG, JPG) are judged at 300ppi at 350mm wide — full-back print size, our benchmark for every job. That's roughly 4,100 pixels across.

file format

Some formats (older EPS, some AI files) can't be read in a browser. Those get an honest "we'll check it by hand" rather than a guess.

If your file doesn't pass, it's not the end of the road. Most artwork that falls short of the standard can still be printed — it just needs professional preparation first, which our team does in-house. An artwork fee may apply depending on what's involved.
